The Chelsea Writer's Workshop has been helping
authors grow for over twenty years. In that time many of our members
have gone from "I'd like to write" to selling stories and winning
awards.

My experiences working as a clerk in the Pediatric OR of a major metropolitan hospital inspired me to write these stories. Nurses are very funny people, and they all hung out at the Charge Nurse's desk right next to mine. After I stopped laughing, I wrote down their stories--nail polish, deep dives into current events, or romantic breakups ... and there was the love we shared with each other.
Working with these she-roes inspired me to write this chronicle of our workplace lives, our aspirations and our dreams. Here are our stories--funny, poignant, angry, sad--but most of all, told just the way it was.
This book is dedicated to all women who work in hospitals, our essential frontline workers who save lives with a smile every day.
They truly make a difference.
